Last Christmas, I decided to take a 3-month sabbatycal from my regular stressful job and enroll Bikram’s annual intensive yoga training.
For 9-weeks, I will be in Acapulco in a 4-star resort near the beach practicing Bikram Yoga with 300 people from all over the world. (It doesn’t sound like a big challenge does it?)

However, it is a real challenge:
(1) The schedule is packed with classes from 9am to 10:30pm Monday through Saturday
(2) Everyday, we will have 5 hours of Bikram Yoga in a room heated to 110F
(3) In addition, daily classes on anatomy, posture clinic and dialogue learning that will drastically reduced my siesta time
(4) Finally, the training is led by Bikram Choudhury himself, the founder of the Bikram Yoga style and a man whose guiding principle is: “The ONLY way is the right way, and the right way is ALWAYS the hard way”
All the people I have met that have done this training before told me that this was the toughest time they have ever had in their lives. So either they are all sissies or I am going to suffer a little…. (to be continued…)
